Giglio, Capraia and Pianosa

The Giglio, Capraia and Pianosa islands are three of the seven islands that make up the Tuscan Archipelago National Park.
They are characterized by very lush vegetation, almost pristine in some areas, with steep cliffs overlooking the sea and deep blue waters.
The seabed of Pianosa Island represents the pure essence of nature, never really disturbed by humans. So does the Giglio Island, renowned for its marvelous marine environment, with various species of animals including sperm whales, fin whales and dolphins, to be admired in the warmer months. Capraia Island is the only one of volcanic origin, the "wildest" with just over 300 inhabitants and many sites of historical interest.

Porto Azzurro and Portoferraio

Porto Azzurro and Portoferraio are two historic villages on Elba Island with thousands of years of history. Their golden beaches are among the most beautiful in the world, with crystal-clear waters full of wonders that are particularly appealing to scuba divers for their splendid seabed.
In Porto Azzurro, the best equipped port on Elba, there are many quaint restaurants on stilts where you can enjoy traditional specialties. In this fishing village you can visit the 1602 Fort of San Giacomo. In Portoferraio, on the other hand, you will be fascinated by the history of the many different peoples who have been here, thanks to castles and towers from Etruscan times, Roman and Napoleonic villas.

Art and history

The Island of Elba has a wealth of stories to be told and experienced firsthand by visiting its various museums and archaeological sites.
From the Ginevro Mine, where Europe's largest magnetite mine is located, to the Archaeological Museum in Portoferraio with very ancient artifacts.
From the Palazzina dei Mulini, Napoleon's former official residence when he was exiled to the island, to the Pisan Fortress, Elba's historic landmark with a walkway from which to admire the most beautiful views of the azure gulf. To the Museo del Mare (Sea Museum), where precious jewels, gems and ancient coins found at the bottom of the sea are preserved: a treasure that had been lost during the shipwreck of a French vessel around 1840.

Is the sea rough? Do you want to immerse yourself in nature?

Go trekking in nature! Go to the Tuscan Archipelago National Park.

The park includes 56,766 hectares of sea and 17,887 hectares of land, between Livorno and the Argentario Promontory, and six islands starting from Gorgona, the smallest, passing through Capraia, Giannutri, Giglio, Montecristo, Pianosa and arriving to Elba, the largest. A park featuring woods and thick Mediterranean scrub, botanical species that grow exclusively here as the violet and cornflower of Elba, and in the sea vast meadows of posidonia, sea fans, sea anemones. For lovers of fauna, dolphins, groupers and rare ocean sunfish swim in the water while birds such as herring gulls, ravens, peregrine falcons and many others fly in the sky.

Is there bad weather?

Visit the Fortress of Volterraio
To immerse yourself in the atmosphere of ancient medieval battles, on the top of the hillock of Portoferraio stands the Fortress (or Castle) of Volterraio, which towers over the town to the east, and is also visible from all over the island. You can enjoy the view of all the Elba Island that enchants like the fairy tales of old: the views from the nearly 400-meter high hill on which it stands are extraordinary. An impregnable fortress, it can be reached via a path and overlooks rocky walls of red jasper, barely covered by vegetation. We recommend visiting it at sunset: you will not regret it!

Don't feel like staying at the beach but love the water?

Don't take a single step: you have it all right here at your fingertips!
No problem! Rosselba Le Palme satisfies your desire to dive with the pool park full of water games, water jets and entertainment activities! For the older ones (and for some relaxation) in addition to the sunbathing area there is also our spa in the heart of the holiday village. If you're feeling adventurous, there's always the option of scuba diving with our diving center!

[Translated with Google Translate] We stayed on a camping pitch with a tent. Incredible place! Never seen such clean and well-made bathrooms. It doesn't stand out from other campsites only for its cleanliness but also for the numerous services it offers, not to mention the attention to detail... absolutely nothing is missing! Beautiful place with a beautiful view and excellent location, close to the most beautiful beaches on the island. Highly recommended!

An unforgettable stay at Rosselba Le Palme

[Translated by Google Translate] I have just spent a fantastic week at Rosselba Le Palme on Elba Island. The campsite is a real gem, set in a lush botanical garden, the Giardino dell’Ottone, which features a variety of tropical plants and palm trees from all over the world. The facilities are excellent, from the pool with hydromassage to the luxury chalets. The restaurant offers delicious traditional local dishes and the staff are always very friendly. The location is also ideal, just a ten minute drive from Portoferraio, making it easy to explore the island. Special thanks to the manager Alessio Patricelli for his hospitality and attention to detail.

Fantastic holiday

[Translated with Google Translate] This campsite is beautiful, well-kept, surrounded by greenery, in a fabulous location. The beach can be reached with a very convenient shuttle that passes continuously in 3 minutes, or with a pleasant 10-minute walk in the pine forest. The view on the beach is wonderful, overlooking the bay of Portoferraio, it is called the beach of brass, it is not very crowded, mixed sand and gravel, with the possibility of renting sunbeds and umbrellas and renting canoes. The sea is fantastic and always calm. The staff is the best! Everyone is friendly and kind in the pool bars, at the entrance and on the beach. The food at the restaurant is excellent, a round of applause to the chefs and the boys in the dining room who pampered us for the duration of our stay. The entertainers are very good and never intrusive, we will keep Leonardo in our hearts who taught us to go canoeing. A special thanks to Eleonora, Jacopo and the director Alessio, special people who do their job with passion and who really made us feel at home. Elba Island is a great discovery, we will definitely return
